This section is specific for tenants using the Web App RentYourNest.

What is RentYourNest Places

RentYourNest is a web app that allows tenants to communicate with their landlords, check unit information, make automatic rent payments, manage and view leases, chat with all parties, send maintenance requests, and access files on the go.

To access RentYourNest, you will need to:

  1. Click on the invitation link that your landlord has sent you. Please check your email (also in the SPAM folder).

  2. Create a password that is at least 8 characters long and includes one capital letter, one number, and one symbol.

  3. Always log in using the same email address that you used to create your account.

URL where to access:

ALWAYS access from this link: https://places.the-roommate.com/.

Remember, there is no version of RentYourNest available on the Play Store or App Store. It simply does not exist.

Do not look it for there but always log in from the URL above.

If you need to set a new your password, or recover the last one, please follow this link: https://places.the-roommate.com/passwordrecovery

I have issues in accessing or logging in:

If you are having trouble accessing RentYourNest, here are some things you can try:

  • Check your spam folder to make sure the invitation email didn't get filtered out.

  • Make sure you are using the correct invitation link.

  • Try creating a new password.

If these methods did not work, try with another browser or even better with the incognito mode.

There may be an extreme case, very rare and most probably not your case, where the landlord did not invite you yet. This can happen if and only if you do not have any invitation email in your inbox or SPAM folder.

If this is the case, we unfortunately have no means to connect you with your landlord. You have to try to reach out to them via any other channel you have been using in order for you to receive an invitation on RentYourNest.

If you are still having trouble, contact us for assistance.

If you were logging in from a very old version of the App (very rare)

It can happen that, if you have been a tenant for a long time (approx. more than 2 years with the same landlord) and you have been using RentYourNest, you may still have to access with an old authentication method.

From the login page, scroll down and click on the dropdown 'Other login'. Select the method with which you logged in (we are sorry but you have to remember with which one you logged in) and log in.

If you will try a wrong method, you will just see an error page. In that case, log out and try again with another method.

This method won't work 99,99% of the times because it is specific to very rare use case so most probably it won't work for you.

Please refer to the section above to understand how to best log in.

Here are some additional tips for using RentYourNest:

  • You can access RentYourNest from any web browser, so you don't need to download an app.

  • You can use the chat feature to communicate with your landlord in real-time.

  • You can use the maintenance request feature to submit requests for repairs or maintenance.

  • You can access your files on the go by uploading them to RentYourNest.
