Operating System Timezone Configuration for Optimal Use of Estelle


We would like to inform you about an important requirement for ensuring the seamless operation of our software. Estelle is designed to function optimally when your computer's operating system is set to the European timezone. This guide aims to provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to change your operating system settings to the European timezone on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Why is the European timezone important for Estelle?

Estelle relies on accurate time and date information to deliver its features effectively. By aligning your computer's timezone with Europe, you ensure that Estelle's time-based functionalities, such as lease generation, booking dates, notifications, and data synchronization, operate correctly. Setting your computer to the European timezone will enable Estelle to provide you with an enhanced user experience.


Changing Timezone on Mac:

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu () in the top left corner of your screen.

Step 2: Select "System Preferences" from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: In the System Preferences window, click on "Date & Time."

Step 4: Go to the "Time Zone" tab.

Step 5: Check the box next to "Set time zone automatically using current location" to disable it.

Step 6: From the map or the dropdown menu below, select a city in Europe that corresponds to your timezone preference.

Step 7: Close the System Preferences window, and your Mac will now operate in the European timezone.


Changing Timezone on Windows:

Step 1: Right-click on the clock located in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen).

Step 2: Choose "Adjust date/time" from the context menu.

Step 3: In the Settings window, under the "Date & time" tab, click on "Change time zone."

Step 4: Uncheck the box next to "Set time zone automatically."

Step 5: From the drop-down menu, select a city in Europe that matches your timezone preference.

Step 6: Click "OK" to save the changes, and your Windows operating system will be set to the European timezone.


Changing Timezone on Linux:

Step 1: Open the Activities overview by clicking on the "Activities" button in the top-left corner or by pressing the "Super" key (Windows key).

Step 2: Search for "Settings" and click on the corresponding icon.

Step 3: In the Settings window, click on "Date & Time" located in the left sidebar.

Step 4: Under the "Clock" section, click on the "Time Zone" dropdown menu.

Step 5: Select a city in Europe that corresponds to your timezone preference.

Step 6: Close the Settings window, and your Linux operating system will now use the European timezone.
