How to Setup Credit Card Feature

Introducing our new credit card payment feature, designed to make your property management experience even better! Here's how you can maximise its potential:

Account-level settings

To activate credit card payments, head to the settings page (grey setting icon on the top right of the screen) and select the "Invoicing Data" section from the left menu. Look for the "RoomMate Places payment methods" section and choose whether to accept credit cards, bank wire transfers, both, or neither for all your payments.

In the Credit Card Payments dropdown, you can choose to accept credit card payments for all payments, just rents and deposits, everything except rents and deposits, or none at all.


Tenant-level settings

For each tenant, you can customise payment options by going to their profile and selecting "Edit" on the left menu. Click next to access the "Billing info" and there you will see "RoomMate Places Payments methods" section and you can choose how you want to collect payments. This feature gives you complete flexibility and control over payment collection.


General information

Please note that there is a transaction fee for credit card payments, which we will bill to you. You will be able to choose who pays that between you and the tenant. To set it up and eventually change it please contact us and we can help you go through it. .

As the landlord can now choose how the fees are applied from the same Settings section, in the Invoicing Information, by scrolling down under the RoomMate Places payment methods. By selecting ‘credit cards’ a new dropdown will appear where you will be able to choose who pays the fees.
