This guide will show you how to import tenants into RentYourNest.

Step 1: Open the import function

Go to the Tenants section.

Click on the IMPORT TENANT DATA button.

Step 2: Download the CSV

A popup window will open from the right.

Click on the hyperlink to download the CSV template.

Step 3: Fill in the CSV

Open the CSV template in Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc, or a similar spreadsheet program. Fill in the following information for each tenant:

  • Name

  • Surname

  • DoB

  • Gender

  • Tax Code

  • Address

  • City

  • Postal Code

  • Region

  • Country

  • Email

  • Phone

  • Guarantor Name

  • Guarantor Surname

  • Guarantor Phone

Step 4: CSV error proofing

Before you upload the CSV, be sure to check the following:

  • There is one email per tenant.

  • The phone numbers are entered correctly.

Step 5: Save the CSV and upload it

Save the CSV file.

In the same window where you downloaded the template, click on the Upload button.

  • Select the CSV file you just saved.

  • Click on the Upload button.

Step 6: Check for errors

RentYourNest will tell you if there are any errors in the CSV. If there are errors, you will see a ❗ icon next to the tenant's name. To see more information about the error, click on the ❗ icon.

Step 7: Fix the errors

If there are errors in the CSV, you will need to fix them before you can upload the file again. To fix the errors, open the CSV file in a spreadsheet program and make the necessary changes.

Step 8: Upload the CSV again

Once you have fixed the errors, you can upload the CSV file again. To do this, follow the steps in Step 5 and Step 6.

Step 9: Import successful

If the CSV file is uploaded successfully, you will see a message that says "Import successful." You can now view your tenants in the Tenants section.
